England footballer Michelle Agyemang, darts player Luke Littler and batswoman Davina Perrin have been selected as contenders for the this year's Young Sports Personality of the Year award.

These three athletes have been honoured for their remarkable achievements over the past 12 months.

Agyemang helped the Lionesses secure Euro 2025, Littler won the world title for the first time, and Perrin burst onto the scene with a record-breaking innings.

Littler claimed this honour in 2024 after his breakthrough year.

The finalists were announced live on a national radio breakfast show.

This year's winner will be revealed live on the prestigious sports ceremony show on Thursday, 18 December.

The ceremony will be broadcast from 7 PM GMT.

Michelle Agyemang

Age: 19 Sport: Football

Just three months after her first cap for her country, Agyemang played a pivotal and thrilling role in England's run to winning the Euros.

She came off the bench to score key tying goals in both the knockout stage games.

Agyemang's stunning interventions led to her being named Young Player of the Tournament.

Subsequently, she was awarded the Golden Girl trophy for the top young European talent.

She was also shortlisted for the Kopa Trophy for the global standout among U21 women.

Agyemang, who has been on loan at Brighton from Arsenal, suffered an ACL injury in October.

"Being on the shortlist for this honour is an honour," said Agyemang. "Thank you to God and I'm appreciative of the support I've received from my inner circle and supporters."

The Darts Prodigy

Age: 18 Sport: Darts

The year started for Littler in sensational style as - aged 17 - he became the earliest-ever winner in history.

He secured a dominant victory over Michael van Gerwen in the final.

His later win at the World Matchplay made him only the fifth competitor to complete the prestigious triple crown of major titles.

He didn't stop there - his win in November's Grand Slam of Darts meant he reached world number one for the very first time.

At 18, he is the earliest achiever to do so, shattering the previous record.

"To receive a nomination for this award again is a big honour," stated Littler. "My victory in 2024 was a proud moment for me and I've had another incredible 12 months. I want to continue promoting darts."

The Cricket Sensation

Age: 19 Sport: Cricket

Perrin is one of English cricket's top prospects and rose to fame with an unbelievable and unprecedented innings in August.

Her brilliant 42-ball century in The Hundred is the quickest ever by an English female in T20s.

It also stands as the shared third-fastest women's T20 century in a top-tier competition.

Perrin finished second in the season's run tally and was named PCA Women's Young Player of the Year.

"I'm deeply humbled to be shortlisted for the young athlete award," expressed Perrin. "This is phenomenal. I hope it encourages more young women to get into cricket."
