Since the launch of the fourth campaign, recently appointed game master the talented storyteller has kept fans guessing with deep backstory, a wide array of heroes, and a thrilling plot including divine entities, fiends, and malevolent powers increasing in power within the urban setting.
Warning: Revealing details for the latest installment of Campaign 4 follow below.
The Soldiers Table Introduced
The latest chapter finished on a dramatic pause and revealed the initial group of heroes who will branch out from the main group to embark on their separate journey, separate from the other two tables.
The Soldiers table consists of Teor (brought to life by Travis), the nimble rogue (the talented performer), Tyranny (Whitney), Wicander (Sam), and Kattigan (Robbie Daymond).
The Reason for Division
Considering a large ensemble, it was clear from the start that having everyone at one table would be impossible.
That’s why, the opening chapters of Campaign 4 serve as an Introduction, weaving together the individual narratives before branching into three separate parties: Soldiers, Strategists, and Seekers.
What Defines the Combat Party
Per Brennan Lee Mulligan, the Soldiers table is for participants who enjoy a traditionally charged battle-oriented story mode where diplomatic options are scarce.
Initially, characters like the reluctant priest the cleric might look unsuited, but the actions of the third episode demonstrate why these particular heroes are perfectly fit for the combat party.
Why They Must Go
First, the team knows exactly where to head next after a intense initial meeting with the enemy group.
An old friend of the deceased character—whose death kicked off the campaign’s events—exploited the foes for his personal gain, entering the hidden lair, attacking the rogue, and stealing all the magical artifacts to sell off.
Casimir then cleared his obligations and ran away to a fortified location in the remote area, beyond the city, with Teor’s brother hot on his heels.
Individual Reasons
Moreover, each member has a specific drive to depart Dol-Makjar:
- The agile hero, as Thjazi’s partner and best friend, seeks revenge.
- Kattigan is familiar with Timmony and cautions that it is a hostile place.
- The warrior and The healer, having resisted his family’s wishes to kill the target and instead freed him, have no other options.
- But, their status as prominent individuals in House Halovar could help the party access places they usually can’t.
- Furthermore, Teor swore a life debt to The cleric for his rescue and will now go with him anywhere.
Pursued by Authorities
Finally, all of them are sought by the powers that control Dol-Makjar for a range of causes, making remaining behind too risky:
- The rogue and Kattigan are known criminals.
- The warrior and Wicander defied the powerful family and the army of fiends they are allied with.
- Teor is wanted dead by the family.
This means them little choice but to travel to the remote area in quest for the antagonist.
What’s Next?
Based on the latest episode’s follow-up content, we find out that the combat party will not appear next week, leaving the rest of the participants to round up the Questers and Schemers groups.
Fans can expect learning which characters will be assigned to which table in the season’s final introductory chapter, available to watch on next week.
