Beloved Actor Pat Finn, a versatile actor, Known For Roles in Seinfeld and The Middle, Has Died at Age 60.

American actor Finn, who appeared in iconic TV shows including Friends, "Seinfeld" and "The Middle", has succumbed at 60 years old.

The skilled improv artist died at home in Los Angeles, California on Monday following treatment for cancer from 2022 onward, per news outlets.

"Pat considered no one a stranger - just potential friends he didn't know yet," his loved ones shared in a announcement.

They added that he had "experienced life to the fullest - with joy and exuberance".

An Extensive Television Career

Finn's first television role was on the George Wendt Show in the mid-90s, where he portrayed the titular character's brother.

He was also seen in a regular part on Murphy Brown between 1995 and 1997.

He appeared as a party host named Joe Mayo in Seinfeld in the late 90s, depicting a party host famous for delegating tedious tasks to his guests.

In the late 1990s and early 2000s, he appeared as a guest star on a variety of popular shows, like:

  • "King of Queens"
  • Friends
  • That '70s Show
  • House

He was most recognized for his portrayal of Bill Norwood in The Middle, featuring across eight seasons of the show from 2011 to 2018.

His film credits are It's Complicated (2009) and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups.

A Life in Improv

Beyond his acting parts, Finn was a skilled improviser and worked as a teacher at the University of Colorado, where he was a professor.

He was involved with a six-member improv team known as Beer Shark Mice.

"Pat taught, supported, and inspired many learners over the years and it's nearly impossible to find a person anyplace who has an unkind word to say about him," his relatives stated.

Offering condolences, colleague and actor Richard Kind remarked there was "nobody more kind, gentle, and humorous, down to earth person you could encounter".

"Always positive, helping you be funnier and better. A great dad, a great guy," Kind wrote on social media.

The actor is survived by his spouse Donna, three children, and his parents and siblings.
